Are you considering work at home employment?

Today, many people are choosing work from home employment over traditional office jobs.

In these times of rising gas prices and long commutes, work at home employment is quickly becoming a more viable option. While not for everyone, those individuals with strict time-management skills and a little ingenuity can thrive in the work at home environment. Work at home employment can be beneficial for those looking to supplement their income or who want a full-time career at home. Yet, as with any line of work, home employment depends on the time and effort put into it to be successful.

Work at home employment requires commitment in order to accomplish your goals. When starting out, determine the amount of time you have to dedicate to the job. Whether you are working as a freelance writer or doing telephone work from home, you should approach it as a normal job with a set schedule. This may take some trial and error, but soon it’ll become clear how much time you have and what hours work best for you. Also, allow yourself time for breaks while working, especially if you find yourself getting frustrated.

The working environment is another key factor in work at home employment. Making a home office relatively free of distractions usually works best. Laptops make it easier to take your work to the couch or down to a fast food restaurant, but most people are more productive if they have a regular work space. This makes it easier to focus on the task at hand.

One reason some are wary of work at home employment is the risk in not knowing about how much income it could generate. It is best to approach working at home like getting into a hot bath, ease your way in slowly. If you have a full-time job, keep it; on your days off, or after work, commit some time to your work at home job and see if it suits you. Also, there are many types of work at home employment so it’s best to diversify. Try several different types of work at home jobs until you find the one that best suits you and can generate enough income.

Work at home employment can be risky, but it can also be rewarding. It allows for more time at home which many with small children find advantageous. Also, the commute from the bedroom to the home work space is less crowded and saves gas. Yet, with any job, your success is determined by your effort.

stacey logo What is MCA?When people begin asking what I do for a living, the next question I normally receive is what is MCA? In this post, I am going to attempt to give you a rundown of MCA, also known as Motor Club of America and the basics of the associate’s compensation plan.

MCA was founded in 1926, when it began providing roadside assistance coverage to truck drivers. After a long, successful run, MCA decided that the MCA benefits plan should include personal automobiles and farm vehicles; so, in October 2011, MCA’s protection plan was changed to include those types of vehicles.

MCA offers a valuable roadside assistance service, providing help when you have a dead battery, a flat tire or need to be towed up to 100 miles from where your vehicle breakdown occurred. While these benefits are a must-have for anyone with an automobile, MCA also provides an emergency room benefit, a hospital stay benefit, an accidental death benefit and a prescription drug discount card—along with other various benefits.

In explaining what is MCA, I need to let you know that it is not only a benefits protection plan for you and your vehicle; but, also a way to earn a substantial income from home. MCA does not advertise through television, radio or other normal means of commercial advertisement. Instead, Motor club of America depends on its associates, who are also members of MCA, to provide word of mouth advertising about the company’s outstanding benefits. With this type of advertising, MCA associates earn $80 for every new member they personally bring to MCA. If you sign up just one person 5 days a week, you would earn $400 each week. Could you use an extra $400 each week?

Now when asked what is MCA, I let everyone know what a great company Motor Club of America is and how they can earn a profitable income with MCA. This company provides individuals with a means to work at home and provides a competitive wage. Where else can you make $80 every time you bring someone else into a program? Whether you would like the have the peace of mind that comes with being an MCA member or you would like to earn an extra income as an MCA associate, MCA may be for you.

If you would like to know more about the great MCA benefits program or still have questions regarding what is MCA, leave a comment below or contact me at info@MCAworkfromhome.com.

ID 10033305 300x199 Is the Fear of Success Holding You Back?

Do you have a fear of success?
Image courtesy of graur razvan ionut / FreeDigitalPhotos.net

On one of my journeys across the web, I ran across an article that talked about the fear of success. The article spoke about responsibility was a prerequisite for becoming successful and how they had to overcome not wanting others to be dependent on them before they could reach success. After reading this it struck me as this dependence can often cause a fear of success in people who work from home; but in a different way.

When you work from home, in most cases, you aren’t dependent on anyone but yourself. You are the boss, chief cook and bottle washer. All of the duties of the day are on you and you alone. If your business succeeds, or fails, you have no one to blame but yourself. When you work outside of the home, you normally have an office, or other establishments, full of people that help share your workload—at least to some degree. Make no mistake, you can succeed or fail at a “normal” 9 to 5 job; however, your success, or failure, may also depend on other people.

When you work from home, you know that you need to work hard to become successful. You are the only one controlling that factor and it is up to you to make it happen. This can be a frightening realization. If you are struggling with the fear of success, try to remember why you wanted to work from home in the first place. Was it to be there for your children? Were you seeking more freedom to do what you wanted to do? Are you caring for elderly relatives? Maybe you wanted to leave your mark on the world. These are the things you need to think about when that fear of success creeps in—your reasons for starting this journey in the first place.

For me, it was the need to be home with my children. I wanted to be there when they were little to help them learn and I wanted to be the person to pick them up from school and who they spent their evenings with. This was my reason for wanting to be successful; and it was enough to combat any fear of success that crept into my mind.

What is your reason for wanting to work from home?

Mar 012013

If you want to be a work at home success, you have to brand yourself successfully. Branding is the process of causing yourself to stand out among the other entrepreneurs in your field. Entrepreneur.com defines branding as the following” “Simply put, your brand is your promise to your customer. It tells them what they can expect from your products and services, and it differentiates your offering from that of your competitors. You want to be the person that people remember when they are looking for the service or product you offer—be the go-to individual in your business. In order to do that, you need to learn how to successfully brand yourself and your business.

While I have come a long way in the past few months, I still have quite a bit of work to do where branding is concerned. Branding yourself takes total commitment, a lot of time and, of course, a lot of work. However, successfully branding yourself and your business will pay off tremendously in the long run. Below are 5 tips to help you start branding yourself, and help put you on a path to success.

Connect with your Clientele

It doesn’t matter if you are selling a physical product, an e-book, or marketing a service—if you don’t connect with your potential customers; you aren’t going to be successful. Take the time to get to know your potential clients or customers, whether it be through social media or face-to-face. This practice allows you to know what your clients are really looking for and to build their trust –people buy much more easily when they know they can trust where the product or service is coming from.

Rid yourself of Self-doubt

Okay, this one may sound a little “fluffy”; however, self-doubt can doom your business, and your branding techniques, from the start. How do you expect anyone to believe in you, or your products and services, if you don’t believe in yourself? You want to position yourself as a leader in your field. In order to do that, you have to first act like a leader. Throw the self-doubt out the window and step up to the plate. People seek out those that are successful and trustworthy—be that person.

Network, Network, Network

Networking with other successful individuals in your same industry is a great way to begin branding yourself. If you want to be as successful as other people are, you have to put yourself out there in the same spot in the world with those people. If you know your business, do not be afraid to step out with the big dogs—they were once only pups themselves.

Develop a Motto

Whether it is a motto or a catch phrase, you want to develop a statement that will stay with individuals and cause them to immediately think of you—in a positive light, of course. I have a friend that is known for stating a famous movie quote—“Never give up! Never surrender!” Whenever I hear this quote, I immediately think of my friend. She has been successful—at least with me—in branding that quote. You want people to think of your name and your business—give them something to remember!

Make Honesty Your Policy

You want to brand yourself as an honest, dependable person. No one wants to purchase a service or product from someone who likes about what they are selling or that is far from trustworthy. If you use deceptive tactics to encourage sells, people will find out and they will remember. However, if you are honest and upfront about everything in your business, people will see it as an eagerness to truly help your customers.

If you can learn how to successfully brand yourself, you are one step closer to reaching the top of your industry.

What suggestions would you give to someone who is trying to learn how to successfully brand themselves and their business? Drop me a line, I want to know!

While reliable work from home jobs exist, you must put in time and effort to turn a profit.

Are you at the point of giving up your work from home job search? Do not quit just yet; I can assure you that reliable work from home jobs exist—even though those jobs may be few and far between.

When people ask my opinion on working from home, I often tell them that it may take them a while to find the perfect opportunity. You may not uncover your perfect opportunity right away; it may take a lot of searching, and some trial and error, before you find that perfect work from home job.

What I really want to talk to you about today is sticking with an opportunity long enough to see an income. I have been working with Motor Club of America for a few months now and have made almost $12,000.00. That is quite a bit of money for part time work; however, if I had given up during the first few weeks or months, I wouldn’t have made any money from this business. While reliable work from home jobs exist within Motor Club of America, it will take a little work and time to get this business started. The first couple of months of my MCA career did not produce a large amount of money; I had to put some time into my business posting ads and drawing attention to my website before the money became steady. Now, after 7 months of working my business, I have made almost $12,000.00—which was definitely worth the first few months of wondering whether or not the income would show up.

My message for today is not to give up before you give your opportunity a chance. Any work from home opportunity takes time and effort—no opportunity is going to automatically hand you money—you have to actually do the work. Reliable work from home jobs exist; however, you have to put in the effort and time to see a profit.

What reliable work from home jobs exist that you are aware of?

MCA logo
How Motor Club of America Can Increase Your Income in Just a Few Days

You can earn a great income at home with Motor Club of America!

Looking for a way to increase your income, without having to wait weeks or months to see a profit? Motor Club of America offers a way to earn an income in a short period of time. When I make this claim to individuals who ask me about my work from home business, many of them find it hard to believe that any home opportunity can provide an income increase quickly.

I understand the skepticism surrounding my claim; however, for the past few months I have lived the reality that Motor Club of America can help you earn a great work from home income. When I first began working with MCA, while I thought that the business plan looked really good, deep down I had a few doubts. Like many of you out there, I have tried many different home business opportunities and not all of those opportunities have panned out. I have been scammed and I have also taken part in programs that did not provide the amount of money promised—no matter the amount of effort I put into the program.

For this reason, I promised myself that I would never promote another product unless I knew—without a doubt—that it could help people earn an actual work from home income. Motor Club of American has helped me earn an income from home—allowing me to stay home with my children and be there when they need me.

Motor Club of America pays their work from home associates $80 for every qualified sign-up, whether they are signing up to use the product themselves or planning on promoting the product to earn an income. Imagine you promote the product and are able to sign up one person per day for five days; just one signup per day will provide you with $400—with only a part-time effort. Apply full time hours and effort into Motor Club of America and there is no limit to the amount of money you can make.

Perhaps the greatest thing about being an MCA associate is the fact that Motor Club of America pays you each and every Friday for the signups for the previous week. You can earn a paycheck every week while working from home with this company–I do it every week.

The MCA program offers great benefits to everyone who signs up for the program. The benefits are so great—find the benefits here—the package almost sales itself.

If you are looking for a work from home opportunity that will actually help you earn an income at home, Motor Club of America is a great place to start.

Frustrated 215x300
How to Put the Smack Down on Work from Home Stress

Don’t let work from home stress destroy you and your business. “Image courtesy of Michal Marcol / FreeDigitalPhotos.net”

Think that people who work from home don’t experience work from home stress, think again. People who have a home business or job may often experience as much, or more, stress as individuals who work outside of the home. Working from home has its own personal set of stressful woes—often because the worker feels pulled between work duties and household duties and chores.

Luckily, there are some simple things you can do to help put a smack down on work from home stress before it gets the best of you.

Stay organized and manage your time.

I know that you have heard this one a million times—but have you taken steps to actually make it work? You truly need a schedule if you are going to make your home job or business successful. When you don’t have a clear idea of what you need to do—and when you need to do it—chaos can follow. You don’t have to follow your schedule right down to the minute; however, scheduling parts of your day can definitely put you ahead of the game. While my MCA business is flexible, keeping a schedule helps me stay sane and keeps me from getting frazzled!

Add exercise into your routine.

If you love to exercise—or maybe even if you don’t– taking a 10 to 15 minute exercise break can really help delete stress from your day. If you are sitting behind the computer all day long, your body needs to stretch and move to keep you from feeling stiff and achy. Try some Yoga stretches or turn on a walking video, your body and your mind will thank you.

Interrupt your workday.

If you have the work, work, work attitude—which will keep you sitting at your desk all day long—you really need to work some interruptions into your day. If you aren’t into exercising, as I suggested above, just get up from your desk and find something to do for a few minutes. Maybe you can grab a snack and read a good book. Perhaps you find watching the news relaxing, or maybe you love to listen to music. Whatever works for you, let it take you away from your work for a few minutes—so you unwind.

Talk to “REAL” People.

We can often get caught up with our work relationships and don’t spend any time actually talking to people. Even if you don’t realize it, only talking and thinking about work can bring a lot of stress into your life. Take the time to actually interact with people around you. Talk about something other than work. You want to ensure that you are fulfilling the need for personal interaction, which can definitely help you distress.

Do you have any simple distressing techniques you use on a daily basis, while you work from home?

home workspace 300x225
5 Tips to a Successful Work from Home Career

Having a designated work-space can help you in your quest for a successful work from home career. “Image courtesy of nuttakit / FreeDigitalPhotos.net”

If you attempt to kid yourself into thinking that working from home is easy, you are simply fooling yourself—and possibly setting yourself up for failure. A successful work from home career takes effort and determination—not to mention a lot of work. There are some items you can implement from the very beginning that will set the framework for your from home career and start you off on the right path.

1. Set up an established work-space.

If you have designated a particular area as your workspace, you should. You want your work from home area to mimic that of an actual work environment, which will offer less distractions and help you feel like you are “at work”. Fill your home office with items that you need to complete your daily work routine—such as work related supplies and reference materials or books. Piling files and materials on your couch, while you rest comfortably with your laptop, may not create the perfect work environment.

2. Stay organized.

Organization is key in any business environment—whether it is in the home or outside of the home. When you have a work from home business or job, you may have to work a little harder at your organizational skills to stay on top of your game. While working from home, your “work” is always accessible and can even distract you from your home duties—, which also works in the reverse. Keep your work, and your work area, organized and separate from your living area.

3. Schedule your day.

Many individuals may balk at this idea; however, scheduling is crucial for work from home success. If you schedule the different aspects of your day—and keep set business hours—you will find that it is easier to avoid distractions and get lost in doing laundry or your favorite daytime television show. Set a schedule, stick to it, save the laundry for before— or after work—, and do not forget to set the DVR to tape your favorite shows.

4. Avoid Distractions.

While I have covered this topic in some of the above tips, I feel the need to give avoiding distractions its own space among the crucial tips to being successful at home. When you are working from home, distractions constantly surround you. You may be distracted by laundry and housework, television, Facebook, your favorite website or your favorite book (not picking my favorite book up every hour is a challenge for me). If you truly cannot stay away from these things during your workday, work your most important distractions into your schedule. If you frequent Facebook, reward yourself with 15 or 20 minutes of Facebook time after completing 2 or 3 hours of work. If housework just has to be done, schedule 30 minutes or an hour of housework in the middle of your day. While it is truly best to stave off all distractions, giving yourself a little leeway may help you be more productive.

5. Program breaks into your schedule.

Working consistently for hours on end can be tiring both mentally and physically. Ensure that you are taking a few minutes, at least 3 times per workday, to get away from your computer and your work. While you may choose to use one of the distractions we talked about above as your break, I would suggest actually taking a few minutes to walk away from it all and unwind your mind. Fix yourself a nice cup of tea or coffee and sit in a comfortable chair for 5 or 10 minutes. You want to ensure you are not tiring yourself out during the day, or you may become less productive.

What are some effective tips that you use in building your successful work from home career? Please leave a comment and let me know.

Is your work from home business ready for a banner year?
“Image courtesy of renjith krishnan / FreeDigitalPhotos.net”

If you run your own work from home business, now is the perfect time to think about what you can do to improve your business and increase your income. There are a number of things you can do to enhance your business, and possibly even expand your clientele. Below are five tips to help you start the New Year out with a BANG!

1. Embrace Needed Changes

We are only midway through January, which means you still have plenty of time to devise an awesome plan for the New Year. Try making a list of all of the things you want to improve about your business. You may come up with things as simple as changing your business motto or as difficult as devising ways to bring in more revenue. Once you have determined the areas you feel need work, you will want to brainstorm ideas for solving these problems. While this exercise can be done anytime of the year, implementing these ideas now will help you set the framework for a prosperous year.

2. Improve Customer, or Associate, Relations

If you run a business where individuals are placed underneath you (where you earn a residual income from what the people underneath you earn), you need to ensure that you stay in contact with those individuals. If you are responsible for training the people under you, you want to ensure that you do not shirk that responsibility. Making sure that those individuals are making money—and running a successful business—not only helps them, but also you. More importantly, if your business relies on customers—individuals who actually purchase products or services—you need to ensure you are maintaining a positive relationship with those customers. Just having a quality product or service is not enough; you need to reach out to your customers and solve any issues they may have. If your customers do not have issues with your services or products, what can you do to further enhance their experience? January is the perfect time to refine these relationships. If you can start the beginning of the year off on the right foot, these relationships will most likely stay strong all through the year.

3. Examine Your Goals

It is important to review your goals often, but especially at the beginning of the year. I cannot stress to you how important goals are for your business. You should be setting weekly, monthly, bi-yearly and yearly goals, if you truly want your business to grow. Unfortunately, many small business owners do not bother tracking their goals—I would venture to guess that these same small business owners’s fall a little short of reaching their ideal vision where their business is concerned. It is especially important if you are running a work from home business, as you are in complete control of all of the aspects of your business. Knowing what you want to accomplish, and working diligently toward those accomplishments, will not only strengthen your business—it will help it flourish.

4. Improve your Online Presence

NEWSFLASH—Social media platforms are not just places to play games and catch up with friends, these platforms are crucial to your business. If you are not developing a presence online, you may actually be working against your business. Social media forums allow your customers and clients to reach you directly, and in a prompt and efficient manner. Use these platforms to get to know your clients and customers and find out what they want from your business. Utilize social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter, to build relationships and trust with those that can either make or break your business. Start the New Year off by beginning a social media campaign that will ROCK your business.

5. Embrace Change

This last tip is tricky for most business owners to adopt; however, it should be welcomed—if you truly want to grow your business. Nothing ever stays the same; if we choose not to adapt to our surroundings, we might as well stand still and let the world evolve around us. I am not saying that you need to completely revamp your business in the New Year; however, I think it is crucial for any business to grow and change—when the situation calls for it. Look at your competition. What are they doing differently? How have they evolved their business? Have these evolutions helped skyrocket them to the top? Your business may need be thriving and not need any changes; however, stepping back and taking a hard look at what changes might improve your business won’t hurt in the long run.
